Since mainnet went live in March 2025 with 100+ storage nodes, blobs can be published with an onchain proof of availability. Recent updates also clarify WAL’s role: you pay upfront for a storage window, pricing is designed to stay stable in fiat terms, and staking plus governance steer where data lives and how long it stays
