Foresight News: Japanese fintech company Soramitsu plans to launch a cross-border payment system for Asian countries, providing services for Japan, India, China, and Southeast Asia using Cambodia's CBDC and stablecoins. As part of the plan, Soramitsu intends to establish a stablecoin exchange in Japan, allowing for the exchange of different countries' currencies.
Soramitsu supports the Bakong payment system developed by the National Bank of Cambodia, as well as the digital version of the Kip, the official currency of Laos. Bakong has been used for QR code-based digital payments between Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
