Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has recently expressed concerns about Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) approving operators of ETH staking pools. He proposes a solution that could reduce the likelihood of any individual liquidity pool growing to a point where it poses a systemic risk.
Buterin has also raised concerns about re-staking, a mechanism being developed by Eigen Layer, among others, that expands the responsibilities of Ethereum validators to include the security of external chains. He feared that re-staking could introduce risks that could affect the security of the network.

Despite these concerns, Buterin defends DAOs against critics who argue that DAO governance is inefficient and that traditional corporate governance structures are far superior. He argues that diversity of input into decision making can make a great deal of sense
