“Hey everyone,🚨🚨
Quick heads-up on a recent incident in crypto:
Saga (the project behind Saga chainlets and
$SAGA token) just got hit by an exploit on their Saga EVM chain. An attacker managed to mint unauthorized Saga Dollar (D) tokens and drained around $7 million worth of assets (mostly bridged out as ETH and others).
Key points:
• The Saga team paused the Saga EVM chain right away to contain it — no more damage is happening.
• This was specific to their EVM chainlet (not the main Saga chain or
$SAGA token directly affected in the same way).
• Saga Dollar (D) dropped ~25%, but other parts of the ecosystem are being monitored.
This is unfortunately another DeFi hack in a string of them this month/year — total DeFi losses already over $30M in 2026 so far.
What you should do / know:
• If you hold
$SAGA , D tokens, or anything on Saga chains → Stay calm, but watch official @Sagaxyz__ updates on X for when the chain resumes and any recovery/compensation info.
• Never click suspicious links or approve unknown transactions right now — hacks like this sometimes lead to phishing waves.
• General reminder: Use hardware wallets, revoke old approvals (via tools like Revoke.cash), and be extra careful with bridges/swaps.
Saga is a solid project overall, and they’re handling this transparently. I’ll share any official updates here as they come.
Stay safe out there! 🚀
