Are wallets ever truly safe?? An old wallet had been dormant for 4 years, with assets safely stored for 8 years. Its owner thought it was secure enough.
A month ago, the address holder transferred the funds to a new wallet, only to fall victim to a CryptoBillis Ledger crypto-stealing Trojan. All 59 ETH in the wallet were stolen.
Lookonchain detected the theft transaction, and ChainCatcher followed up with a report on the security incident. The asset transfer itself triggered the crypto-stealing trap, sounding the alarm for long-term holders.
