Citigroup officially moves into bitcoin custody! Scheduled to go live as early as before the end of the year, with a dual-track strategy combining in-house development and external partnerships.
Citigroup officially enters bitcoin custody, with a launch targeted for this year-end at the earliest
Major Wall Street banks continue to expand their footprint in cryptocurrency-related services. Citigroup announced that it plans to roll out a bitcoin (BTC) custody service for institutional clients by the end of 2026, enabling asset management firms and other large financial institutions to hold and manage bitcoin through traditional banking channels.
Biswarup Chatterjee, global head of Citigroup’s services division, said the company aims to formally launch the service later this year and is currently completing product and infrastructure preparations. Bitcoin is expected to be the first supported digital asset, with the possibility of gradually expanding to other crypto assets afterward.
The service will be integrated into Citigroup’s Custody+ platform. Designed primarily for institutional clients, the platform combines functions such as asset custody, settlement, foreign exchange, and cash management. With bitcoin added, clients can manage traditional securities and digital assets simultaneously through their existing financial services framework.
Citigroup has been laying groundwork for cryptocurrency custody for years. As early as 2021, the company began studying digital asset custody services and evaluating how to incorporate blockchain assets into existing institutional financial infrastructure.
Now the laptops messed up by AI are all insanely expensive. I wanted to replace my old laptop—it's been lagging badly—but it was too costly. So I asked someone to look into why it’s so slow. Turns out there’s a pile of software, each of them calling low-level system functions and competing for resources with each other.
The technician came up with a different approach—turn the few most resource-intensive operations directly into hardware acceleration. Don’t go through the whole software-simulation setup. The speed is immediately not the same.
Dusk’s virtual machine, Piecrust, does something similar. Smart contracts run inside a WASM sandbox by design, aiming for safety and portability, but the cost is slowness—especially for cryptographic operations like hashing, signature verification, and zero-knowledge proof computations, which are very expensive to run inside the sandbox.
Dusk’s solution is to pull these high-frequency operations out individually and turn them into "host functions". They directly call native low-level code to execute, instead of having to hard-calculate them inside WASM.
The specific ones they extract are: hashing with Blake2b and Poseidon, verification with verify_plonk (PlonK proofs), verify_groth16_bn254, and also two signature verification methods: verify_schnorr and verify_bls. These basically cover the cryptographic operations used across Dusk’s whole privacy and consensus mechanisms. In other words, the most difficult work is effectively given a back door, bypassing the sandbox’s normal route.
This design improves execution efficiency, but it also means the correctness of the host functions themselves is extremely critical—if any of these native functions have vulnerabilities, the impact is more direct than software-layer issues, because all contracts share the same underlying acceleration channel. $DUSK
☀️In the afternoon, the market keeps rising and falling📊
There’s no such thing as a one-way market forever; volatility is the norm🌊. Don’t let the up-and-down moves in the trading session sway your emotions—keep to your own trading rhythm🕯️. Less impatience, more patience; opportunities often go to those who can stay calm and wait🌿. Stabilize your mindset and quietly wait for the stretch of market action that belongs to you✨
Countdown is on! On August 25, the TMX token TGE is coming—with a total supply of 1 billion and no inflation! The more we get closer to this thrilling moment, the more you should know, guys: if you haven’t figured out TermMax’s underlying logic yet, you might miss this wave of opportunities.
In established protocols like Aave and Morpho, variable interest rates are like a roller coaster—your capital costs can spiral out of control anytime. But TermMax flips the table and tells you: in DeFi, fixed interest rates don’t just lock things in—they’re also tradeable like stocks!
Its ace up the sleeve is the original “third-generation token physical separation” mechanism. A single loan is forcefully split into two halves: FT (zero-coupon bond) lets lenders buy at a discount and receive the face value at maturity, with the yield locked in immediately; XT (interest token) gives borrowers instant cash-out as soon as they receive it, instantly fixing the loan cost. One FT plus one XT equals one debt token—principal and interest are completely separated on the physical layer. Even better, GT (leverage NFT): traditional DeFi leverage requires repetitive loop collateralization, and the gas fees are painful. TermMax instead packages collateral and debt into a single NFT—one-click to reach your target leverage, so smooth it can be downright addictive.
But that’s not all! TermMax Alpha upgrades fixed-rate lending into an option-like Call/Put experience. You only pay an upfront premium once; your maximum loss is locked to that amount—no margin pressure, and no nightmare of liquidation cascades. If you’re conservative, you can also provide liquidity to option buyers via Dual Investment and earn the premium steadily.
On the asset side, it’s also a “Jacks-of-all-trades” (asset adventurer): LST/LRT, Pendle PT, RWA (e.g., Ondo’s stock tokens), and various stablecoins are all supported. And it never lets capital sit idle—unused funds automatically flow to protocols like Aave, Morpho, and Venus to generate base returns, while professional Curators like Keyrock and Edge Capital help manage your vaults.
Data doesn’t lie: according to the current official TVL, it’s already over $90M, spanning 10 EVM chains, and registered wallets have surpassed 1.5 million+! The most exciting part is that the TMX token TGE—total supply of 1 billion with no inflation—has been scheduled for August 25, 2026. It’s right around the corner! Get ready.
Tomorrow, we’ll keep digging into the underlying mechanics—what area do you want to focus on most? #termmax @TermMax

$ETH 🧧 Yesterday I ate 333 points, 17% The first time I ate that much in one go I originally thought that the program I painstakingly wrote—was it really useless? After losing in small amounts for four months, stopping losses, and losing so much that I started to doubt life itself, today I finally got to eat it—333 points. When I wrote the program, I was backtesting performance across an entire year. But that entire year was a high-to-low pullback and a bear market. I’m also not sure whether the program, in the late stage of a bear market—when there’s no attention and the market is just sideways with no volume—can make it through the storms ahead, or whether it works once the bull market arrives. I can’t guarantee that I’ll be in position for every big行情. A few months ago, when it dropped from 2000 to 1503, I went short and stopped out quickly. If I had held on for just 10 more points, I could’ve caught the larger swing. But that’s just how it is: the program is fixed; the market is alive. I can’t adjust the parameters for just one failure—that would affect every subsequent win and loss. So all I can do is wait in the market for the opportunity that belongs to me. I’m still determined to compound using 2.5x. Keep the principal, and then in the crypto world you’ll have a say.
