Will Shiba Inu (SHIB) Overtake Ripple (XRP)? While predicting the future of specific cryptocurrencies is not an exact science, market analysts often consider several aspects, including past performance, use cases, community participation, and broader market volatility.
With that in mind, let’s examine whether Shiba Inu (SHIB) has the potential to outperform Ripple (XRP) in the future.
For this particular question, though, we asked none other than ChatGPT.
SHIB v. XRP
Looking at their market caps, with a current valuation of $26.5 billion, XRP is six times bigger than SHIB, which has a market capitalization of $4.4 billion. Since its inception, XRP has consistently been among the top crypto assets in the market cap. On the other hand, SHIB has experienced several ups and downs, with the market buffeting the meme coin far more regularly than it did XRP.
However, SHIB is transforming itself beyond merely being a meme coin. It is the center point of a growing ecosystem that includes ShibaSwap, the Shiboshi NFTs, the Shiba Inu incubator, and the recently launched Shibarium Layer-2 network. An expanding ecosystem means that SHIB use cases will grow and push the coin’s value in the future.
Bad publicity is usually detrimental to a coin’s value, and SHIB’s lackluster performance in the wake of Shibarium’s glitch-laden launch is a testament to that. But with Shibarium back online and with user numbers gradually growing, analysts expect the meme coin to shake off its lethargy and start making gains.
XRP has also been in the news for all the right reasons after gaining a partial victory over the SEC, where a court determined that XRP was not a security if sold on secondary markets. While the clarification hasn’t really led to as big a pump in XRP prices as market watchers had expected, the expected passing of several crypto-related bills by Congress this fall may nudge its price upwards. $SHIB $XRP #crypto2024 #cryptocurrency #binance #Crypto2023 #cryptoshark
New Survey Shows Traditional Finance Exchanges Hold Different Views On Offering Digital Asset Services
Traditional finance exchanges maintain a divided stance on offering crypto-related products to their customers according to a new research report by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE).
The WFE released on Sept 5 findings from a survey it conducted with 29 respondents aiming to improve a wider understanding of the crypto market infrastructure, the evolution of trading platforms, and contrasting differences between centralized and decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges.
Per the report, 41% of the respondents (12 firms) currently offer crypto trading and asset management services to their clients while seven firms have plans to offer such services in the future.
In sharp contrast, a third of participants have no plans of offering crypto-related services in the future with some citing regulatory concerns and the fear of exposing users to fraudulent crypto startups.
The survey commenced a few weeks after the collapse of the Terra ecosystem which reportedly wiped off billions from the market opening the sector to tighter regulations.
Per the survey, 26% of participants project a huge growth in the digital assets market over the next five years. This increased adoption drive has been linked with renewed institutional investment and centralized financial firms offering tokenized assets to their customers.
The potential approval of a spot Bitcoin (BTC) ETF in the United States has also drawn a similar view from experts at Bernstein.
Participants in the survey opine that they have recorded a higher demand from retail investors than their institutional counterparts. However, while retail clients demand stablecoins and non-fungible tokens, institutional investors demand custody and security-backed assets. #crypto2024 #binance #cryptocurrency #cryptousdua
Breaking: Payments Firm VISA to Begin Using Solana Blockchain for Stablecoin Settlements
Visa, the global payments giant, has unveiled its expansion into the world of stablecoin payments, featuring integration with the Solana blockchain, and has initiated collaborations with prominent merchant banks, Worldpay and Nuvei. "By leveraging stablecoins like USDC and global blockchain networks like Solana and Ethereum, we're helping to improve the speed of cross-border settlement and providing a modern option for our clients to easily send or receive funds from Visa's treasury," said Cuy Sheffield, Head of Crypto, Visa. In a recent X thread, Cuy Sheffield, addressed some of the challenges associated with traditional Visa card transactions. While consumers often experience near-instant payment authorizations when using Visa cards at a vast network of merchants worldwide, the intricacies of fund movement behind the scenes remain hidden. Sheffield explained that Visa's treasury and settlement systems facilitate these transactions. These systems ensure efficient clearing, settlement, and transfer of funds between the consumer's bank (the issuer) and the merchant's bank (the acquirer). This intricate operation is conducted seamlessly across a vast network comprising nearly 15,000 financial institutions and involving over 25 global currencies. In this recent move towards stablecoin settlements, Visa has gained the capability to transfer USDC-denominated payouts to Worldpay and Nuvei through its Circle Account. These merchant banks can subsequently channel these payments in USDC to their end merchants. As part of Visa's ongoing efforts with the introduction of these new settlement options, Visa can now transmit funds on-chain to acquirers like Worldpay and Nuvei, contributing to expedited settlement times for their associated merchants. #visa #crypto2024 #cryptoshark #binance #cryptousdua
There’s definitely a bipartisan case for crypto policy
We’re constantly told that the US political system is hopelessly polarized, and that there aren’t any issues that can reliably garner bipartisan support. This dynamic seems entrenched, especially when Democrats and Republicans view members of the opposite party more and more harshly, year after year. Coupled with the looming presidential election and the rising political temperature that the contest brings, a casual observer might despair that structural polarization in the US is too difficult to overcome. The good news is that — behind the depressing headlines — there are in fact surprising areas of real bipartisan cooperation. And, in one of the more hopeful moments from the past summer, an ostensibly unlikely object of bipartisan consensus emerged: the promise of crypto regulation. Multiple crypto-focused bills were voted out of their respective committees in the House of Representatives, setting up a full floor vote on these pieces of legislation in the House this fall. Needless to say, this was a major milestone for the crypto industry — this is the first time any crypto-focused regulatory bills moved out of committee. And importantly, the bills mostly drew bipartisan support in those committees. While that spirit of collaboration doesn’t guarantee the bills will be voted on to the Senate, it’s clear that there is growing bipartisan consensus that Congress needs to act upon. The debate that pushed these crypto bills out of their committees was illuminating, most strikingly for the common sense perspective that many members espoused in their remarks. Representative Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., one of crypto’s stalwart defenders in the House, put it simply that the status quo of our current regulatory regime is failing. And in his effort to pass crypto legislation, Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., noted that this regulation was need in the interest of consumer protection and American innovation. While these bills are not yet perfect, it’s clear that sticking with the current system — marked by harsh enforcement actions that confuse the everyday user and depress innovation — will not hold. The US Securities and Exchange Commission’s recent losses in its crusade against crypto demonstrate that even the industry’s antagonists may soon come to the same conclusion. The sooner crypto’s critics realize a bipartisan crypto consensus is emerging, the better. Read more from our opinion section: Crypto rights are fundamental American rights There’s a good reason for this: Crypto, by its nature as a technology, isn’t partisan. It’s a universal tool that has the potential to change how people live, work and play. Crypto’s universal aspect means that there is something for everyone to like; if you care about the overbearing power of the traditional banking and tech sectors have over our lives, crypto holds a solution; if you are worried about internet censorship and free speech, crypto has an answer; if you simply want to utilize a safe path for donations in times of disaster or for international causes, crypto can solve that too. While the broader crypto market has endured a tumultuous year-long rollercoaster ride since the collapse of FTX, it’s notable that, even amid that uncertainty, roughly 20% of American adults own crypto. It’s clear that crypto is no longer a niche issue and that enough of our representative’s constituents use, own and engage with crypto that bipartisan forces of Congress should be paying attention. While the fates of the bills in question are uncertain, we should be encouraged to have made it to this point — at the cusp of a House-wide vote to demonstrate just how much Congressional support for crypto policy has grown, and how much work there is left to do. Crypto infrastructure provider Qredo has announced plans to reduce staff and expenses as it navigates the challenges posed by the ongoing bear market. Qredo has let go of approximately 50 employees, including several senior executives, according to three sources familiar with the matter. Among the executives affected by the job cuts are Qredo's Chief Product Officer, Gabriele Farei, and Chief Information Security Officer, Asen Taskov. The company expects to save approximately 50% courtesy of the reduction in the workforce. Qredo's current headcount stands at around 130 employees, according to the sources. A Qredo spokesperson has reportedly confirmed the layoffs while refraining from providing specific details. "Due to the prolonged crypto winter, Qredo will be rightsizing to focus on its core protocol and its web3 custody business," the spokesperson said. Qredo is an MPC-based (multi-party computation) asset custody protocol that addresses the core custody challenges of private key storage and access control while minimizing counterparty risk through a novel implementation of MPC. The project records ownership of Layer 1 assets on Qredo's Layer 2 blockchain called Qredochain. Notably, all signatures are secured by a distributed multi-party computation (dMPC) network, as documented on Qredo's official website. The company generates revenue through transaction fees, which are denominated in its QRDO token. Additionally, Qredo's dMPC network offers decentralized custody for decentralized assets, claiming to enhance security by fragmenting and distributing customers' private keys across carefully secured data centers. Founded in 2018, Qredo gained a valuation of $460 million in February 2022 following an $80 million Series A funding round. To date, the firm has raised approximately $94 million in total venture capital funding. #crypto2024 #Crypto2023 #cryptocurrency

Uniswap Whale Deposits 850K UNI Tokens Worth $3.76M Into Binance
Uniswap, the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, has been making waves recently with its latest developments. One whale deposited 850,000 UNI tokens, worth $3.76 million, into Binance via Wintermute Trading. According to Lookonchain, the whale received 5.44M $UNI ($24 Million) from the Uniswap Team/Investor/Advisor Allocation Wallet and currently has 1.59M UNI ($7 Million) left.
The move follows a recent announcement from Uniswap Labs that the forthcoming launch of Uniswap v4 is on the horizon, set to follow the Ethereum Cancun upgrade.
Uniswap v4 will incorporate a “flash accounting” system that optimizes asset transfers during swaps, reducing gas consumption. This system operates on net balances, providing additional gas savings compared to previous versions. The upgrade also includes support for native ETH, offering users even more gas efficiency.
Unlike previous versions, Uniswap Labs emphasizes transparency and community governance, allowing the community to govern v4. This approach aligns with Uniswap’s emphasis on decentralization and community involvement.
In another development, the Southern District Court of New York recently dismissed an indictment against Uniswap for its alleged rugpull user, boosting the project’s credibility.#binance #cryptoshark #crypto2024 #uniswap
A cryptocurrency named Pepe Coin, characterized by its association with deflationary memes, has been entangled in a controversy involving accusations of insider trading and a substantial misappropriation of tokens. According to insights from an expert knowledgeable in blockchain transactions, known by the name Yazan, the unfolding saga surrounding Pepe Coin has prompted some individuals enjoying privileged access to initiate the liquidation of their PEPE holdings. This series of transactions has led to the sale of a significant quantity, roughly 665 billion PEPE tokens.
Yazan has fervently called upon prominent cryptocurrency trading platforms like Binance and OKEx to take preemptive measures to quell the suspected insider trading practices.
Misappropriation and Liquidation of Pepe Tokens
The scenario intensified following a public statement issued by the official Pepe account on social media. The statement detailed the fraudulent transfer of an astonishing 16 trillion Pepe tokens, each with an approximate value of $15 million, to cryptocurrency exchanges, including OKX, Binance, Kucoin, and Bybit. The subsequent sale of these tokens followed, giving rise to the allegations under scrutiny.
Amidst these events, former Pepe currency marketer Jeremy "Pauly" Cahen has brought forth serious allegations surrounding insider trading within the purview of the meme-based currency. Following the unaccounted disappearance of 16 trillion PEPE tokens, Cahen has spotlighted the individuals affiliated with the meme currency, accusing them of participating in insider trading.
Dubbing as "insider trading allegations," Cahen has taken a resolute stand by unveiling the identities of the implicated team members. In a meticulous exposition, he has laid out the intricate web of wallet transactions conducted by each involved member. On-chain analysts have identified a series of notable PepeCoin transactions believed to be orchestrated by insiders within the cryptocurrency sector.
Bitcoin Bulls Face Setback as Monthly Stochastic Indicator Turns Lower: Analyst
Bitcoin (BTC) bulls may be in for a disappointment, Fairlead Strategies said, as a monthly technical indicator has flashed an "overbought downturn" signal. The stochastic indicator, developed by George C. Lane in the 1950s, recently turned down from above 80, indicating a loss of upward momentum. The indicator oscillates between 0 and 100 with readings above 80 implying overbought conditions. Readings below 20 suggest the opposite. A turn lower from overbought levels represents a so-called overbought downturn, which indicates a weakening of upward momentum.
"At the end of August, bitcoin confirmed an overbought downturn in its monthly stochastics in a setback," Katie Stockton, Fairlead Strategies' founder and managing partner, said in a note to clients on Monday. "The downturn suggests the basing process may be drawn out, especially given the overhang of the monthly cloud model, which enhances resistance (~$31.9K) from the weekly cloud model." The comment refers to bitcoin's repeated failure to scale the so-called "cloud resistance" at $31,900 in the past few months and points to a long, drawn-out basing or bottoming process. That's "a setback toward a long-term turnaround," Stockton wrote.
Previous overbought downturns in early 2021 and December 2017 marked major price tops. The monthly MACD histogram, an indicator used to gauge trend strength and trend changes, is flatlined near zero, indicating neutral long-term bias. Crossovers above zero indicate a bullish shift in momentum, while a drop below zero represents a bearish trend change. While the indicator bottomed out a year ago and has yet to turn positive "suggesting a sustainable uptrend is not yet in force," Stockton noted.
