[BitTorrent mainnet officially releases BTFS V3.0]
BitTorrent officially announced the launch of the BTFS V3.0 Heisenberg update on the mainnet, bringing a number of features to improve user experience, operational efficiency, and network security. This update reflects BitTorrent's efforts to support symmetric encryption to meet the diverse needs of users.
Following extensive community discussion on BTIP-72, it is now possible to export and import keystore files, simplifying management and enhancing node security. BitTorrent has redesigned the network connection to ensure efficient data transfer, supports batch withdrawals across multiple nodes, simplifying the mining process and improving efficiency. The network also highlighted the importance of the BTFS protocol and the development of decentralized networks.
In addition, major changes to BTT storage rewards will take effect on June 25, with the total adjusted daily storage rewards reduced to 7.5 billion BTT tokens. Node operators have until June 25 to update their nodes.
BTFS (BitTorrent File System) is a web application and protocol that provides a P2P address mechanism for sharing and storing digital content in a decentralized system, and serves as the underlying platform for dApps. The BTFS team is studying new network operations and market sentiment to provide a series of dynamic adjustments, such as airdrop reward programs and upload prices.
This update will further strengthen the BitTorrent ecosystem and improve the overall user experience on the decentralized network.
