🇹🇷 The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as part of its lawsuit against Terraform Labs and its co-founder Do Kwon, requested that a judge, rather than a jury, determine whether certain crypto assets are securities.
📑 The SEC argued that whether cryptocurrencies will be considered securities under the commission's guidelines is a "legal question" to be determined by the court, not the jury.
🔍 The SEC has undertaken to label different cryptocurrencies as securities, including sanctions against Binance and Coinbase. The SEC, which filed a lawsuit against Ripple, ruled that the XRP token should not necessarily be considered a security.
🇺🇸 Which cryptocurrencies will be considered securities or commodities in the United States is a matter of ongoing debate among legislators and regulators. It is also a matter of curiosity whether the SEC will soon decide to approve a spot crypto exchange-traded product for the first time.
