According to CoinDesk, Meta’s vice president of the metaverse, Vishal Shah, said the company is working on new first-party games through a new internal studio called Ouro Interactive, which he said is using new technological advances to make “better looking and immersive experiences.” According to Shah, the platform also hopes to better drive billions of mobile gamers around the world into the metaverse by bringing Horizon Worlds to app stores.
Zuckerberg affirmed Meta's commitment to AI and the Metaverse during an earnings call this week, saying they are both "major priorities" that are now "overlapping and complementary." Still, the company's Reality Labs division had an operating loss of $3.7 billion in the second quarter of 2023, and operating losses will continue to increase due to new products under development.
