[Solana game developer Automata announces massive layoffs] Golden Finance reported that Solana game developer Automata (ATMTA) will carry out "substantial layoffs" to maintain its ability to develop Star Atlas. After the reorganization, the Automata team will have only 45 employees, compared to 235 employees at the end of 2022. According to an announcement released by Discord on July 24, Michael Wagner, CEO and co-founder of ATMTA, said that the reorganized team will shift its focus to delivering SAGE and the newly released Crew mobile app. At the same time, the development of the software development kit (SDK) combining Unreal Engine 5 and Solana will increase the speed of development. The SDK is the basis of the Star Atlas game. Wagner wrote that approximately 33% of the project's revenue is considered the in-game token Atlas, which the team has been holding, but the token has lost about 80% of its value over the past year.
