She claims that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman used a synthetic voice, Sky, in the updated ChatGPT, which she says is 'extremely similar' to her own. Johansson has hired legal counsel due to OpenAI's actions. After her legal counsel sent two letters to Sam Altman, OpenAI 'reluctantly agreed' to withdraw Sky.
In response, Sam Altman stated that Sky's voice was 'never intended to be similar to hers'. He said, 'We had already chosen the actor to voice Sky before we had any contact with Ms. Johansson. Out of respect for Ms. Johansson, we have temporarily suspended the use of Sky's voice in our product. We regret not having better communication with Ms. Johansson.'
