On July 15, zkSync officially announced an NFT airdrop for NFT players in the ecosystem. The first batch of 10,000 addresses has received the airdropped NFT. As the much-anticipated head layer 2, zkSync’s move has attracted heated discussion in the community. Everyone is speculating, is obtaining this NFT equivalent to qualifying for the zkSync airdrop token?
To answer this question, Trusta Labs analyzed the on-chain interaction behavior of 10,000 users who have obtained NFTs on zksync Era:
Interactive behavior analysis
Number of transactions
The average number of transactions for zkSync Era users across the entire network is 21. This NFT airdrop user: 70% of the cumulative number of transactions >= 20, which is higher than the average. 15% of the airdrop accounts have a total of <= 10 transactions, including 690 users or even <= 4 transactions.
Transaction volume
The cumulative transaction volume of more than half of the zkSync Era users on the entire network is 44 U. This NFT airdrop user: 15.4% of the address transaction volume <= 50 U, of which there are even 530 addresses with a <= 10 U (much lower than the average).

We found that this round of zkSync airdrop address screening rules are single and do not take into account interactive value and activity. Many official airdrop addresses have average contributions to the zkSync Era (contributions of transaction amount, gas fee and active time are lower than average, or have Obvious witch behavior), airdrops only encourage users to participate in ecological NFT projects, so receiving NFT airdrops is not completely equivalent to receiving Token airdrops in the future.
