In response to the Multichain incident in Telegram, the Fantom Foundation said: “The team is in contact with Circle and Tether to see if there is anything that can be done with the frozen funds. We can’t make any promises, and we may not be able to do anything. We are also trying to better understand what happened and the situation of Multichain.”
Earlier news, the Fantom Foundation tweeted that when the team received the relevant news about Multichain, it immediately contacted stablecoin issuers including Circle (USDC), Tether (USDT) and TrueUSD (TUSD) to freeze the assets in the Multichain wallet.
Currently, more than 60 million USDC and more than 2 million USDT have been frozen. The Fantom Foundation is actively reaching out to various contacts and sources to fully understand the Multichain incident. In addition, a group of current Multichain employees has been established to better understand the situation and try to provide support.
