The U.S. House of Representatives’ top government oversight committee has asked Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell to assist in its investigation into the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank after some Fed officials were reluctant to hand over some records, Bloomberg reported.
James Comer, a Republican congressman and chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, wrote to Powell saying that Fed staff has some confidential regulatory information that is not public, but that the committee has not "received any response" to requests made since late April.
“We look forward to continuing to work with you and your staff so that the Committee can receive the fully-requested documents,” Comer and Lisa McClain, D-Calif., chairwoman of the Health Care and Financial Services subcommittees, wrote in the letter.
