PANews reported on May 4 that Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino added on Twitter that Bitfinex had tested some of the emails/passwords disclosed by hackers and found that the information was valid on at least two other exchanges. Some users use the same email/password on multiple exchanges, and many of the passwords disclosed by hackers do not even meet Bitfinex's minimum password strength requirements. Previously, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said that the Bitfinex data leak may be fake news. From the information we have collected, hackers have collected email/password databases that may have come from different crypto leaks. Although we think this is pure FUD, we will continue to review the information to ensure that nothing is missed.
