Shiba Inu holders and fans have been waiting for the launch of Shibarium for a long time and it looks like their wait is about to end. The project's lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has hinted at the timing of the launch of Shiba Inu 's Ethereum-based Layer 2 protocol. Shibarium has come into the limelight earlier this year. In this, the developers of SHIB Coin will release a layer-2 Shiberium network on the Ethereum mainnet, which will support the SHIB ecosystem as a mother blockchain.
Shitoshi Kusama in one of her blog postshas informed that Shibarium could be launched in August this year at the Blockchain Futurists Conference to be held in Toronto, which is scheduled to be held between August 15-16. The Shiba Inu Project is one of the major sponsors of the event. The lead developer says that the project plans to make several other announcements at this event, as well as share all the information related to Shibarium and is expected to release it there as well.
Project Shiberium has been in the works for several months. Kusama has confirmed that a multi-month hackathon will be launched at the Blockchain Futurists Conference to help incorporate new decentralized applications and smart contracts once the protocol goes live.
Not only this, it has also been confirmed that the whitepaper of the protocol (named Worldpaper) will be displayed alongside all Shib branded projects as well as Treat will be published in detail for the first time.
For those who don't know, the Shibarium Layer-2 blockchain network works as a secondary platform, which is built on the main blockchain. These networks aim to increase the scalability of the main blockchain by supporting a wide array of customized dApps and protocols, while maintaining the same security standards offered by the mother chain.
