According to the governance page, the Aave community has passed the on-chain vote for the proposal "Next steps for the migration from Aave V2 to V3" and will execute it within 6 hours. The AIP proposal proposes freezing the 1INCH, ENS, LINK, MKR, SNX and UNI reserves on the Aave V2 Ethereum pool.
Chaos Labs, the initiator of the proposal, said that these markets are small in size and can usually be easily migrated. This is different from the consideration of market freezing before the release of V3. With the launch of V3, freezing the V2 market does not prevent users from using these markets. On the contrary, it enhances the community's ability to protect user funds more effectively, because V3's advanced risk management mechanism provides a safer environment. This proactive strategy aims to force the freezing of low- and medium-capital assets on V2.
