June 21 (Cointime) - Animoca Brands has partnered with Celo to expand its web3 gaming ecosystem to a mobile-first infrastructure. Celo's platform is home to over 1,000 web3 projects that drive social impact and climate action in more than 150 countries. Animoca Brands aims to tap into Celo's network to target an addressable market of over 6.4 billion mobile phone users.

The carbon-negative blockchain has already offset 4,104 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2-eq) since its mainnet launched on Earth Day 2020. Animoca Brands is the first entertainment and gaming company among Celo's over 100 members to bring blockchain to the masses through financial inclusion, innovative project development efforts, and local and regional blockchain education campaigns.
