Derar Islim, interim CEO of crypto lender Genesis Global Trading, said on a creditor call on Wednesday that its cryptocurrency lending arm, Genesis Global Capital, has suspended customer redemptions and new loan issuances. Genesis is looking for solutions for its lending arm, including finding new sources of liquidity, and plans to detail its plans to customers next week. In addition, Derar Islim said that Genesis’ trading and custody businesses operate independently and will not be affected.
