NatWest Bank, one of the largest banks in the UK, has now implemented a new policy requiring customers to notify the bank in advance when withdrawing more than £2,000 in cash, including funds withdrawn from cryptocurrency platforms. According to the notice on the bank's door, customers who need to withdraw "large amounts" (i.e. more than £2,000) need to notify the bank 24 hours in advance in order to withdraw the money. According to the bank, the reason for this measure is to "protect the safety of customers." During the Silicon Valley Bank debacle, NatWest Bank received media attention for setting daily limits on transactions and protecting customers from potential cryptocurrency scams. (Bitcoinist)
