American porn actress Lana Rhodes actually stole $1.6 million from NFT investors who disappointed her and refuses to return the money.
In January 2022, Lana released the CryptoSis collection, consisting of 6,069 non-fungible tokens. The artist sold digital assets at a price of 0.1 Ethereum per piece ($260 at the exchange rate at that time) and earned $1.6 million.
Rhodes presented a long-term development plan for her cryptocurrency project and promised that CryptoSis owners would be able to increase their capital. She also lured customers with several bonuses, such as the ability to receive personalized messages from her, participate in upcoming NFT sales rounds, and buy clothes and shoes to wear in the metaverse.
However, the actress chose to withdraw all funds from the crypto wallet owned by the startup CryptoSis and left the project. Rhodes attributed her actions to negative and rude comments she saw in the chat while interacting with community members. Lana did not see anything wrong in her action and refused to meet the investors halfway.
