Odaily Planet Daily News Chorus One is entering the field of Urbit peer-to-peer network hosting service providers. Chorus One is a provider of staking services for more than 40 blockchains and protocols such as Ethereum, Solana, Cosmos, Polkadot, etc. Gary Lieberman, head of the Urbit team at Chorus One, said that its new hosting platform Red Horizon marks the first time that a major blockchain or technology company that was not originally built in this ecosystem will be involved in the Urbit network. It is reported that Urbit originated in 2002 and is a peer-to-peer network. Its working principle is mainly to give each user a "personal server" to store their own data; when users interact on the network, they each keep a local record of these interactions. Technically speaking, the network is not a blockchain, but it has many of the same ideas, such as trying to bypass middlemen and centralized "Web2" applications. Chorus One said in a press release that this new hosting service may be "very suitable for the general public, DAOs and any other communities interested in getting rid of giant companies."
