A church in Fuerth, Germany, held an experimental Christian service on Friday that was almost entirely generated by artificial intelligence. The AI chatbot ChatGPT preached to more than 300 believers through a black avatar on a large screen, including sermons, prayers and music. The 40-minute service was co-created by ChatGPT and Jonas Simmerlein, a theologian and philosopher at the University of Vienna. The 29-year-old scholar said: "I conceived the service, but I actually accompanied it more because I would say that 98% of the content was generated from the machine."
