PANews reported on June 5 that according to the WeChat public account "Quantum位", Meituan co-founder Wang Huiwen's AI startup Lightyear Beyond has recently completed a new round of financing of US$230 million (equivalent to RMB 1.63 billion), with a pre-investment valuation of US$1 billion. Lightyear Beyond's current round of financing is said to be led by Source Code Capital with an investment of US$80 million, and Tencent, 5Y Capital and Kuaishou founder Su Hua all participated. 5Y Capital invested US$40 million, Su Hua invested US$40 million as an individual, and Tencent invested US$50 million.

Before the financing news was exposed, the latest news about the company appeared on May 5. Wang Huiwen forwarded the company's recruitment post on Jiji App, looking for crawler, data, front-end, back-end and product interns.

Earlier in February, it was reported that Wang Huiwen invested 50 million US dollars to enter the field of artificial intelligence, saying that he would build China's OpenAI; in March, it was reported that Meituan founder Wang Xing would participate in the A round of investment in Wang Huiwen's AI company "Light Years Away" and serve as a director.
