Atomic Wallet, a self-hosted wallet (a hot wallet in which users keep their own mnemonic phrases) that was established at least in February 2018, received multiple incidents of user asset loss on 6/3.
In the Atomic Wallet investigation, the information security community has discovered tens of millions of dollars in losses
Officials said on 6/4 that they were cooperating with security companies to investigate, but the reason was unclear.
According to an investigation by security firm SlowMist, losses to known addresses reached $14.8 million. They are also investigating the total damage based on the address provided by on-chain detective Zach.
On-chain detective Zach estimated that user losses exceeded $35 million, of which five large investors lost a total of $9.7 million.
Update: A new largest victim was found on Tron with 7.95M USDT stolen,

If something goes wrong with both hot and cold wallets, is it better to sign more?
This incident made DeFi KOL Ignas feel emotional. He said that this wallet that has been in business for so many years was still hacked. After trying multiple software wallets, for peace of mind, I will still use a multi-signature wallet for long-term storage.
As for hardware cold wallets, although they are great, if the physical wallet like Trezor is taken away by hackers, the assets can still be obtained. (Reviewing the news of Trezor being hacked) On the other hand, Ledger also failed in its attempt to import Ledger Recover. (Ledger’s introduction of decentralized hosting services was met with a backlash)
He believes that it is better to use a cold wallet to store one of the three private keys in the multi-signature wallet! Whether it is a lost mnemonic phrase or a cold wallet, there are at least two things that can be saved.
