Global banking giant will break new ground by launching gold token issuance
HSBC will be the first bank in Hong Kong to enter the real-world asset (RWA) sector in the crypto space by issuing gold-backed tokens for its retail customers.
The global bank announced that it has started issuance of tokenized gold for Hong Kong customers. Bank customers will be able to purchase HSBC's gold token through the bank's Blockchain platform Orion and online banking applications.
