Remember OSF, the NFT whale who sold 71 BAYC to Huang Licheng three months ago? He did not abandon NFT.

As you may have heard, Mando and I recently sold all of our apes. I converted most of them into ETH and have been holding on to it because I firmly believe in the value of ETH.

But I also think this year's NFT bear market is a rare opportunity. Below I will briefly introduce which NFTs I bought and why.

In my opinion, ETH has about 5x more room to appreciate in the next 3 years. Even if this number is not accurate, it is still an attractive bet. I can hold a lot of ETH and not be bothered by market fluctuations. But I think there are still some things that may beat ETH.

In the world of NFTs, I focus on two main elements:

  • Cultural relevance

  • Historical relevance

I wouldn’t buy an NFT just because it’s old, what was garbage from 5 years ago would still be garbage today, the NFT has to have real cultural relevance.

I firmly believe that we are at the beginning of a “digital renaissance.” It’s a scary term, but the point is that art has been around for centuries; we’re just getting started, and this is a historic opportunity.

Everything looks grim, people are anxious because of FOMO, many people don't really believe in the movement or don't have enough liquidity to survive the bear market. I believe the bear market is a time to buy, and here's what I'm buying. This is not financial advice, by the way.

Autoglyph @larvalabs(155 ETH)

Autoglyph is the first on-chain generative art in Ethereum history, created in 2019.

There are only 512 Autoglyphs in existence and I thought I would never be able to own one, but luckily it is down over 50% from its highs. I think Autoglyph is a better choice than ETH.

 Fidenzas @tylerxhobbs(82 ETH, 85 ETH)

Art Blocks were revolutionary, but Fidenzas are the most iconic representations, and I believe have universal aesthetic value.

I bought them after they dropped 50% from their highs, and they dropped another 50% after I bought them. Haha, buying at perfect timing is not an easy thing.

CryptoPunks @larvalabs(125 ETH)

Any first-rate NFT collection has to include a punk element. I think the 3D glasses are a great feature, with the contrasting red and blue.

Skull of Luci @SamSpratt(78 ETH)

The Parliament is often compared to the Illuminati, and I don't dispute that, but I think Sam Spratt is one of the most talented artists in this area, and he has achieved something that few of us can even begin to match.

Broken Keys @lphaCentauriKid(9.9 ETH)

My personal understanding of this series is that it is a "flag" and I have been following its progress. I like chess, so this work has a natural appeal to me.

Gazers @MattKaneArtist(15 ETH)

I bought this after it dropped 60% from its highs. The imagery of the piece adjusts based on the phases of the moon, and this dynamic element makes the NFT unique and impossible to replicate with traditional art.

 Alien @rektguyNFT (6.9 ETH)

I love collecting rektguy and have bought a lot of rare NFTs. The series has been launched for a year and I believe its culture will always exist in the crypto world. Please note: there are only 8 Aliens!

BABY

This is no longer about art or NFTs, I bet on PEPE and bought $100,000 worth of tokens when it was worth $8 million, unfortunately, I sold too early and missed out on a fortune.

Then I bought $80k of TURBO tokens when it was at $20m, thinking it would be the next PEPE with 10x upside. These meme tokens have some potential, but I just see them as gambles with a low chance of success.

I have also purchased some other NFTs, and I will be patient for now and wait for the opportunity to come. I like the balance between investment and collection, which allows me to get a good return in the bull market and own some cool art at the same time.

Mando and I also own two XCOPY 1/1s together, some grifters, and a Nakamoto Rare Pepe card, which I think is essential to any meaningful collection.
