After the Dencun update, Layer 2s such as OP, ARB, Starknet, Zksync are having the cheapest gas fees ever.
Gas fee current networks:
OP; Current ARB is about $0.05
Starknet: $0.04
Zksync: 0.16
Cheaper fees mean easier cash flow to Layer 2. In the past, many retail investors could not use Defi services on Ethreum because the gas fee was too expensive, now they can have a smoother experience with cheap fees.
