《Interview date: May 9, 2023》
1. You can briefly introduce yourself
Hello everyone, I am Becca, a Web3 builder and AMA host. I came into contact with the Black Cat NFT project very early in 2022, and we had some cooperation later.
Many people may know me because of my name "Teacher Becca". I once created an English group on Twitter, where I would teach everyone some practical English words and assign homework every day. In addition, I also appeared on Twitter Space with Sun Ge and Du Jun, jokingly saying that I would train Huobi employees in English.
2. Can you share your opportunity to enter the circle?
I am currently working as a data analyst in a Web2 company. My daily work includes using clean data and drawing visualization charts. However, I am very interested in the concept of Web3, mainly because a friend of mine who works as an operator in a company on the Polkadot chain took me to a sharing event about Web3. At that event, I was inspired by the speaker and gradually entered the field of Web3. I found that there is a big gap in Web3, because some good projects in China are difficult to let foreign circles understand the value of our projects due to language barriers or cultural differences. Because I have lived in Canada for many years and English has become one of my native languages, I think I can be a connector and output the views of Chinese project parties in English. Because I have a deeper understanding of Web3 and understand the differences between Chinese and foreign cultures, I can better communicate and interact with foreign circles and convey the concept of our project to foreign countries. In some all-English AMA activities, I can use my language expertise and understanding of Web3 to better communicate with foreign audiences and help cooperative projects achieve breakthroughs in circles.
Core content: I am a data analyst currently working in a Web2 company. I found that due to language barriers or cultural differences, it is difficult for some good projects in China to let foreign circles understand the value of our projects. Therefore, I want to use my language expertise and understanding of Web3 as a connector to convey the views of Chinese project parties abroad and help achieve a breakthrough in the circle.
3.What are your deepest feelings about Web3?
In terms of the concept of Web3, there may be some prejudice against the female group. In my experience, for example, when I first started to help Black Cat, Sister Jing and promote NFT, they often referred to women in Web3 as "female players" or "female holders", while men did not have such names. This shows that we still have some barriers in terms of gender equality. When I started to get involved in the Web3 field, some people questioned my true purpose and thought that I was just trying to gain popularity. As a woman, I am often troubled by malicious comments, which is also a problem faced by many women in this field.
However, Web3 is a diverse and inclusive world, and we should not put gender labels between builders and players. I think everyone is excellent, and everyone is learning and exploring. We should recognize the value of everyone, rather than distinguishing between male and female builders. I mentioned this idea in my interview with meta space. I think women are as good as men, everyone should be recognized and respected, and we should not have gender bias. Now, more and more women have the opportunity to show themselves in the Web3 field. We should also strive for gender equality in the future of Web3.
Core content: In the Web3 field, women are often labeled as "female players" or "female holders", which shows that we still have some barriers to gender equality. As women, we are also troubled by malicious comments in this field, which is also a common problem. However, Web3 should be a diverse and inclusive world, and we should recognize the value of everyone instead of distinguishing between male and female builders. Everyone should be recognized and respected, and we need to strive for a future of gender equality.
4. What areas do you think have the potential for development in Web3?
First of all, I think there are two tracks with relatively great potential in the future development direction of Web 3.0.
The first track is NFT. Although the market is not optimistic at present, I think this is a direction with potential. At present, the price of NFT cannot rise or grows slowly, which may be due to the restriction of the Blur project. Blur's project rewards the purchase of NFT and airdrops some rewards, resulting in the kidnapping or control of NFT artists or project parties. For example, when Blur launched Bed to earn points, the prices of many blue-chip NFTs fell sharply because Blur changed the original NFT platform trading model into a thin exchange model of orders. This emerging model may be more favorable for short-term speculators or those who want to sit on the market for arbitrage. They will frantically buy chips at low prices, and then pull the market to lure retail investors or robots to follow up. When the chips are concentrated, they will sell them at a high price at one time to make a profit and earn the difference profit. Now many blue-chip projects are controlled. The dealer will frantically absorb accounts to hold inventory at the floor price, and finally sell them to smash the market, causing the price to fall rapidly. Therefore, in the NFT track, we must find a decentralized community operation method that meets the definition of Web 3.0 and get rid of the control of the platform or project party. Moreover, I think NFT is a branch of Web 3.0, which can resonate among users, because we can be bound together by common goals, emotional orientation, etc., and exchange experiences and opinions on projects. Although the market is not very good at present, I believe that the NFT market will eventually come back.
On the other hand, I think combining Web3 and artificial intelligence (AI) is a very promising area. Every day, there are many Twitter Spaces discussing how to better apply them together. First of all, in AI, machine learning is a very important aspect. When combined with Web3, it can be extended to different network layers of Web3, resulting in many interesting points of integration. For example, AI can be combined with public chains. Public chains can be called intelligent decentralized chains, with several key layers, such as consensus mechanisms, data layers, incentive layers, and contracts. At the consensus mechanism level, AI can enhance the security of blockchains, and machine learning can be used to mine past data, and then predict future developments, detect fraud or avoid attack risks. In terms of the incentive layer, we can also realize our value through machine learning and make the next generation of Layer 1 or Layer 2 smarter. In addition, we can also combine AI with protocols or DApps. For example, in DeFi, we can use active learning to rate different types of wallet loans, or generate our own avatars in metaverse games, and enhance the gameplay for the game to better meet the needs of users. Finally, I am also exploring combining AI with the creator's economy. As AI technology develops, we are not trying to save or reduce human work, but to better master these tools. When some emerging AI tools such as Mojor or Get3D become mature, creators can empower AI and add the economic model of Web3 to infinitely amplify their creativity and influence, and transform from consumers to participants or owners. Although most AI and Web3 projects are still in the early stages of development, the potential of combining them is huge. We need to prove that these new projects and models are feasible and apply them to on-chain applications to make them more intelligent, stable and trustworthy.
Core content: I think there are two tracks with great potential for the development of Web 3.0 in the future: the combination of NFT and artificial intelligence. In the field of NFT, we need to find a decentralized way to operate the community, avoid the control of the platform or project party, and explore the potential of combining NFT with Web 3.0. In the field of combining Web3 and artificial intelligence (AI), we can expand to different network levels of Web3 through machine learning, thereby generating many interesting points of integration, such as combining with public chains, combining with protocols or DApps, combining AI with the creator's economy, etc. Although these projects and models are still in the early stages of development, the potential of combining them is very huge. We need to prove that these new projects and models are feasible and apply them to on-chain applications to make them more intelligent, stable and trustworthy.
5. What are your prospects for the future?
I joined the Web3 community in September 2022, and it has been half a year. I am very happy that many friends in the Chinese Web3 community know me, including being invited to participate in the "Web3 Women's Power" interview. Many of my efforts have been recognized by the Chinese Web3 community. In the future, what I want to do is to break the barriers of circles and connect Web3 communities around the world through my power. In this way, I can learn that foreign project parties want to cooperate, understand the current status of Web3, and how to better interact and communicate with foreign countries. I hope to break the barriers between China and foreign countries and share our ideas, including Web3 trends, new ideas, and user acquisition. My role may only be to connect and transmit information to help the Chinese Web3 community better connect and communicate with the rest of the world. I have participated in the Web3 conference in Shanghai. In the future, I hope to be able to sit together and discuss on an equal footing, breaking down the barriers of language and national boundaries. I want to be a Web3 transmitter to help the Chinese Web3 community connect with the rest of the world.

I hope to sit together and discuss Web3 trends, new ideas, and how to acquire users on an equal footing, breaking down language and national barriers.
6. Do you have anything you would like to share?
I think coming to Web3 has had a lot of impact on me in three aspects. First, I learned a lot of cutting-edge technologies. My work in the company may be routine, but in the Web3 community, I can learn the latest news and technology trends every day and discuss them with everyone. This makes me feel very interesting, and it also allows me to break through myself and learn something different.
Secondly, Web3 has broadened my mind. In this circle, there is nothing that is beyond imagination. We encourage innovation and the application of cutting-edge technologies. This environment of unlimited creativity attracts me and makes me feel energetic every day. My work has also become more valuable, and my works can be recorded and paid attention to.
Finally, Web3 has also made me braver and more confident. At first, I might be troubled by the unequal treatment of male and female players or builders, but as I communicated with other Web3 people, I found that everyone was very tolerant and diverse. This circle taught me to be myself, not to be defined by other people's comments, and not to compare my shortcomings with others' strengths. I must recognize my strengths and weaknesses and continue to learn and grow. In Web3, my thinking and mind have been improved, and I think this is a wonderful experience.
