Payments giant Visa is working with Microsoft, tokenization platform Agrotoken and software company Sinqia to explore use cases for Brazil’s central bank digital currency and develop an agricultural programmable finance platform aimed at helping Brazilian farmers better negotiate contracts.
It is reported that Visa developed this agriculture-focused use case as part of the latest LIFT challenge, which calls for proposals for minimum viable products that can benefit the country’s financial system and the wider population. (Blockworks)
