The price of bitcoin, the most important cryptocurrency in the world, reached a new historic high, exceeding US$69 thousand (around R$342.4 thousand).

The previous record was from November 2021. At that time, the price fell to $16,500 a few months later.

This time, the rise was driven by American financial giants who invested billions of dollars in purchasing bitcoins.

The value of bitcoin has increased by more than 50% in the last month, according to cryptocurrency market data platform CoinMarketCap.

Large investment funds such as Blackrock, Fidelity and Grayscale began selling regulated financial products (based on the price of bitcoin) after US authorities approved new regulations in January this year.
