South Korean prosecutor Dan Sung-han is battling U.S. prosecutors for the extradition of Do Kwon from Montenegro, arguing that extraditing Do Kwon back to South Korea would be the best way to bring justice to the victims of the TerraUSD cryptocurrency crash. Previously, South Korean prosecutors indicted Terraform co-founder Daniel Shin and seven others on charges including fraud and violations of capital market laws and regulations regarding electronic financial transactions and fundraising. If Do Kwon is extradited to South Korea, he will face similar charges. The extradition process will begin after Montenegrin authorities conclude court proceedings in a passport forgery case against Do Kwon. Legal experts say South Korea may have the upper hand in securing an extradition because it is a party to an extradition treaty with Montenegro. (Wall Street Journal)
