PANews reported on May 5 that the seasonally adjusted non-farm payrolls in the U.S. in April were 253,000, compared with expectations of 180,000 and the previous value of 236,000. The U.S. unemployment rate in April was 3.4%, compared with expectations of 3.60% and the previous value of 3.50%.
The U.S. non-farm payrolls increased by 253,000 in April, seasonally adjusted, the smallest increase since December 2022; the U.S. unemployment rate was 3.4% in April, the lowest since January this year.
