[MUFG completes blockchain interoperability settlement trial of Progmat Coin stablecoin] Golden Finance reported that Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Japan's largest bank, has completed a cross-industry trial using stablecoins to settle digital securities. The bank spent several years developing the digital securities infrastructure Progmat, and a key requirement was the ability to settle through stablecoins. Therefore, MUFG developed program coins as infrastructure to support stablecoins from multiple regulated issuers. The trial delivery and payment (DvP) transaction used a stablecoin issued on the program coin infrastructure based on the R3 Corda enterprise blockchain, which paid for securities on the GoQuorum licensed blockchain. DataChain is the technology provider of the interoperability element. It uses IBC, a cross-chain protocol originally developed for the Cosmos public blockchain, with additional modules open sourced by DataChain.
