Chagri Poyraz, Binance's global sanctions director, said in an interview that Binance has made significant progress in controlling illegal activities and providing services to terrorists and criminals because the number of Binance's full-time compliance staff has increased by 650% from 100 in 2021 to about 750. Poyraz said that Binance is working hard to eliminate compliance lapses, is committed to transparency, and avoids conflicts with international organizations such as the United Nations, the European Union or the United States.
Poyraz also said that Binance has accelerated the development of technical tools to detect when people try to access the exchange illegally, including users from sanctioned countries, sanctioned individuals, and U.S. users who try to use Binance's global platform instead of U.S. regulated entities.
