Secret Network Passes a Minting Proposal, Minting About 1.079 Billion SCRT
According to ChainCatcher, after proposal 365 was approved, the Cosmos-based privacy blockchain Secret Network upgraded to v1.26.0 on August 21 and minted a one-time amount of approximately 1.079 billion SCRT to keep the network running before SCRT Labs stops supporting it on September 1. After the upgrade, the total supply increased to about 1.443 billion SCRT. The absolute balances of existing holders remain unchanged, but their combined share fell to about one quarter, diluting the supply by roughly 75%.
The token issuance and allocation include: 299 million tokens each for the Foundation and the core development plan; 178 million tokens for the ecosystem fund; 72 million tokens each for advisers, researchers, and validators; 43 million tokens each for builders and relayers; and 44 million tokens for remediation purposes. The v1.26 economic model enables approximately 308.4 million SCRT to be freely transferable on the first day, and sets the continuous inflation rate to 5%. The community previously rejected SCRT Labs’ proposal 360 to migrate to an Arbitrum snapshot.
