Important notes

  • Binance has begun a six-part video series featuring our compliance experts and their insights on a variety of topics.

  • In the third video of this series, we will hear about the work done by Binance's Compliance and Research teams.

We need the world's best compliance and investigation experts so Binance can support users around the world and realize its vision of increasing the freedom of money. Binance has done exactly that and has built a strong team that has grown over the years. Today, we'll hear about what the compliance and investigations teams at Binance are doing and how they aim to make the crypto world safer and more user-centric.

This video is the third part of a series of 6 blog articles in which we will feature executives from our compliance and investigation team and get their opinions on various topics.

In this week's video, Director of Global Intelligence and Investigations Matt Price emphasizes that his team's primary goal is to protect our customers, users, and the broader crypto ecosystem. Binance conducts proactive investigations where Matt's team attempts to identify bad actors in the crypto world and take measures to mitigate the risks posed by these individuals. The team also works very closely with law enforcement and regulatory bodies around the world to share information and intelligence about potential criminal activity. And finally, the Investigations team provides training around the world on how to conduct such investigations, including how to effectively leverage the tools, how to track cryptocurrency transactions, and much more.

Binance Global Sanctions Manager Chagri Poyraz also appeared in this week's video. He talked about how his team has developed internal controls and tools that ensure regulatory compliance without creating a major impact on the Binance customer journey. Chagri's team focuses on making sure Binance's sanctions program is known to our customers, which is why the team reports directly to customer service. Everything we develop at Binance and all new products must comply with regulations around the world. Therefore, the team ensures that the right controls for compliance are developed during the design phase of the product, rather than making corrections when under pressure from regulatory authorities.

In the video, Europe and MENA Regional Manager Richard Teng emphasizes that states want to continue growing their economies and the Web3 crypto economy is extremely important in this regard. Therefore, Binance is always looking for ways to cooperate with governments and support them in developing Web3 and crypto ecosystems. In the video, we also talk about how we support the talent pool in this field. Richard then emphasizes that Binance is working closely with regulators to better learn the rules and regulations and complies with these rules and regulations to present our products in the best possible light.

This week's video also features Binance Financial Crimes Compliance Manager Tigran Gambaryan. Tigran underlines that the work done in the department directly affects people's lives. For example, our law enforcement team responds to requests from around the world. Tigran says that in 2022 alone, his team responded to more than 50,000 requests from law enforcement agencies. Tigran and his team are undertaking an extremely important mission that directly impacts the lives of people around the world.

Stay tuned for the new video of this series to be released next week!
