The open edition NFT is called “House of Lee: Genesis”. The piece features a portrait of Bruce Lee designed by digital artist pplpleasr and Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter. The Shibuya team priced the open edition NFT at .008 ETH, or about $15. The mint ran for two days and fans of the pop culture icon purchased 48,691 editions, good for a total haul of 390 ETH.
Shibuya teased the drop with a black-and-white video of Bruce Lee doing an interview. Lee introduces himself and then morphs into an anime-style animation halfway through the video. The promo has over 50,000 views since being posted on Monday.
Shibuya has promised that the NFT will serve as a “ticket to the House of Lee.” While details remain unknown, collectors hope the NFT release is just the first step in an ongoing effort to bring Bruce Lee’s legacy into Web3.

Unlike other streaming platforms, Shibuya uses blockchain technology to distribute and monetize content. Shibuya’s website states, “We provide creators with a full-stack solution to fund films and shorts, build community, and foster an engaged fanbase. Fans can fund their favorite films, participate in the creative process, and join communities for the films they love most.
Andreessen Horowitz and Variant are the primary backers of the content studio. Other investors include Kevin Durant and Paris Hilton. Since launching, the platform has raised over $1.7m in funding for content creators.
By producing content like the “House of Lee: Genesis” NFT, Shibuya’s is fulfilling its long-term mission is to “change how content is created, owned, and consumed.”
