Gary Gensler, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), tweeted, “There is nothing incompatible between the cryptocurrency market and securities laws. One of the SEC’s goals is to bring compliance to this space so that investors can get the same protections as other markets.”
