As previously reported, the latest version of AvalancheGo will migrate X-Chain to run Snowman++ consensus and run as a fully ordered blockchain in a process called "linearization". This migration paves the way for Avalanche Warp Messaging (AWM) integration, modifies new transaction types that share X-Chain states, provides a simple path to enable state synchronization, and makes it easier for exchanges to support X-Chain, which will include many staked tokens used on the Elastic Subnet. In addition, the Cortina upgrade also introduces batch authorization rewards and increases the C-Chain gas limit to 1500 gas.
