【Fear Index at 28—why is SUI still seeing trading volume?】

Down 6% over 7 days and 1.9% over 24 hours, the Fear & Greed Index has dropped to 28, below its weekly average of 32. Prices are weak and sentiment is even more timid, yet trading remains active. That suggests people haven’t left the market—some are still buying in even as they grumble. I saw this kind of scene back in 2017. The biggest mistake is to confuse “active trading” with “someone propping up the price.”

On-chain, the data that can really tell us what’s going on isn’t the candlestick chart, but changes in large holders’ positions, net exchange flows, and active addresses. Falling prices alongside active trading only show that disagreement and turnover persist; they don’t automatically mean accumulation. If large holders’ positions recover, exchanges shift to net outflows, and active addresses expand at the same time, then we can talk about a mid-term recovery. If exchange inflows grow while addresses remain active but the price can’t get going, selling pressure is more likely in control.

In practical terms, the first to be affected are holders who mistake high turnover for strength. Those without a position may end up chasing a rebound amid fearful sentiment. Does the business logic hold up? Yes—but on-chain data can only verify fund behavior; it can’t predict the direction for you.

On-chain data doesn’t lie. What’s your mindset right now—itching to trade?
