A 2011 investment tip for 6,000 yuan

In 2011, a third-year university student asked on Zhihu: “I have 6,000 yuan. How should I invest it?”
One user, going by the name Changxia, replied: “Buy Bitcoin, save your wallet file, then forget about that 6,000 yuan. Take another look in five years.”
Bitcoin had just turned two. In June, it had plunged from $32 to just a few dollars, and hardly anyone online took it seriously. At the prices back then, 6,000 yuan could buy several hundred coins.
When this screenshot resurfaced six years later, Bitcoin was nearing $20,000. That 6,000 yuan had turned into several million.
Of course, this is a textbook case of survivorship bias—out of the thousands of coins around back then, this is the only one that survived. But whenever I see this post, I think: the truly hard part wasn’t holding on; it was daring to believe back then, and daring to forget about it afterward.
What about you? Have you ever seen a post that made you think, “I wish I’d listened back then”? Tell me in the comments, and let me be jealous too.
