What exactly does “Proof of History” (PoH) record?
First, the definition: Proof of History (PoH) is a continuous sequence of SHA-256 hashes, with each step depending on the previous result, used to prove how much time has passed between two events.
The logic behind it: One reason Solana can produce blocks quickly is that it determines in advance who will produce them. The leader orders and executes transactions as soon as they arrive, avoiding a lot of back-and-forth negotiation.
$SOL is Solana’s native coin, while $BNSOL is a liquid staking token for SOL launched by Binance.
