BNB Chain strengthens warning against risky dApps and contracts

📋 Summary
BNB Chain has once again promoted Red Alarm, a tool that flags potentially risky dApps and contracts before users connect a wallet. The feature helps with screening, but it does not replace users’ own analysis or guarantee that projects not on the list are safe.

This weekend, BNB Chain reiterated its recommendation to use Red Alarm, a DappBay security service that brings together decentralized applications and contracts classified as potentially risky. The tool lets users consult a list of alerts and check addresses before signing transactions or granting permissions through a wallet.

The move comes at a time of heightened attention to security across the ecosystem. In recent days, the network itself had to advise operators to fix a vulnerability in the Reth client that affected EVM-compatible networks. Red Alarm, however, serves a different audience: everyday users who need to evaluate an application before moving their assets.

Red Alarm is not a new launch

Although some posts have presented the announcement as a launch, Red Alarm has existed since 2022. BNB Chain’s recent message is a renewed promotion of the service, not the debut of a product. This distinction matters because the tool has already built up a usage history and maintains regularly updated lists of projects and contracts assessed by the system.

In the DappBay interface, users can filter alerts by network, category, reason for the risk, and date added. The signals shown include suspected scams, excessive concentration of control, and websites that have stopped working. Users can also enter an address into the scanner to get an indicative assessment before interacting with it.
