Hyperliquid Strategies has filed an application to become a U.S. futures commission merchant (FCM). If approved, it would mark another step toward traditional financial compliance for the institutional business built around $HYPE .
I think this has two implications: first, the Hyperliquid ecosystem is no longer content with on-chain perpetual futures alone and is proactively seeking access to regulated derivatives channels; second, in a market gripped by extreme fear, with BTC hovering around $75,800, news about compliance initiatives is often more worth tracking than short-term price movements.
Of course, filing an application does not guarantee approval. The review timeline and outcome are both uncertain, so we’ll have to wait and see how things develop.
