UPDATE: Some suspicious transfers from Keplr wallets were actually emergency asset recoveries.
Following the Web3Auth security breach, which affected Keplr users who sign in with Google and Apple, Web3Auth reported that it has been transferring funds from vulnerable wallets to secure recovery addresses.
Some of these transactions were initially mistaken for hacker activity.
Web3Auth released a list of verified recovery addresses — covering networks related to the Cosmos ecosystem and eight Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible networks — to help distinguish transfers made for protection from possible actual thefts.
The amount successfully recovered and the timeline for returning the protected assets have not yet been clarified.
