【Fear Index at 28, Yet TRX Up 3.7% in 7 Days: Can We Trust the Divergence Signal?】

The market has just shown a somewhat intriguing sign: the Fear and Greed Index is only 28, with a weekly average of 32, yet TRX has gained 3.7% over the past 7 days. The market is trembling with fear, but TRX is still inching forward. Isn’t that a textbook case of “positive divergence”?

But don’t get excited just yet. Divergence is like seeing fewer people at the mall while a line forms outside your store: it could mean your shop has earned a great reputation, or it could just be a weekend sale. When foot traffic is low, a longer line is more significant; but one person moving against the trend doesn’t necessarily mean the whole market is warming up.

For TRX, its resilience suggests that selling pressure hasn’t completely crushed sentiment—for now. Those most affected are the people who chased the market in a FOMO frenzy, only to be shaken out by fear. Ecosystem users waiting to recover their losses and short-term traders will feel very differently: the former may finally breathe a sigh of relief, while the latter may wonder if they sold too soon.

Does the business logic hold up? We need to see whether real usage across the TRON ecosystem is keeping pace. Price is a vote; transaction demand is the actual business. When trading volume is low, a rally may just be a tug-of-war over existing positions. A rise in TRX won’t automatically lead to more transfers or app usage.

Keep this in mind: divergence only tells us that price and sentiment are out of sync; it can’t, on its own, prove that fundamentals are strengthening. Check volume first, then usage—and don’t use a single bullish candlestick to talk yourself into feeling confident.

How are you feeling about this move? Itching to trade, or waiting for the Fear Index to recover?
