【After a drop that makes me hesitate to add on, I want to look at volume】

Anyone who’s actually traded wouldn’t rush to buy the dip after a nearly 16% drop in a week. First, they’d step back and see whether buyers are absorbing the selling. My view is that NEAR will move sideways with a potential recovery over the next 7 days.

First, trading volume has surged abnormally, exceeding 5% of market cap—suggesting a sudden, intense exchange of tokens. A volume spike after a decline is worth watching, but it doesn’t mean a rally is imminent. Second, the Fear Index is at 28, against a weekly average of 32. Pessimistic expectations are already priced in, and as long as support at 3.56 holds, there’s room for a short-term recovery. Third, 3.84 is the immediate resistance. Only a move above it would signal a directional breakout; it’s too early to call a reversal.

What does this mean in practice? If NEAR’s chain abstraction can genuinely lower costs for developers and help applications attract users, development teams and users will benefit. If it’s just using subsidies to drive trading volume, both the project and token holders will come under pressure. The business model could work, but the price hasn’t proved it yet.

What would make me think I’m wrong? A high-volume break below 3.56 with no recovery within 7 days would mean the selling pressure hasn’t been exhausted. If it breaks above 3.84 on high volume, then I was too conservative.

Do you trust the unusual volume spike more, or the support at 3.56? Let’s come back next week and see who was right.
