Stellar (@StellarOrg, $XLM) is seeing a sharp rise in new wallet creation, with daily address growth averaging around 15,000 in recent weeks, according to data from DefiLlama.
Over the past month, users created roughly 10,000 to 15,000 new addresses on the network each day. That is well above the pace in August and September, when daily new addresses ran at about 2,000 to 5,000.
October 8 Spike Stands Out
DefiLlama's figures also show a one-day jump on October 8, when 111,452 addresses were created. The data does not explain the cause of the spike, and single-day surges in address counts can reflect batch account creation or app-level activity rather than organic user growth.
DefiLlama tracks new addresses, active addresses and transactions for each chain it covers. Its Stellar page currently lists 8,035 new addresses and 90,027 active addresses over a 24-hour period, so daily figures can vary widely from one day to the next.
Wider Activity on the Network
The rise in address creation comes alongside growth in other onchain metrics. Blockonomi reported that Stellar's DeFi total value locked reached a record of nearly $273 million on October 2, according to DefiLlama, while daily active addresses hit 94,972.
Access to the network has also widened. Ad-hoc-news reported that MetaMask made Stellar a default network in its mobile and extension products on October 29. Citing the Stellar Development Foundation, it said every existing MetaMask account now includes a Stellar address.
On the technical side, Coinranking reported that Stellar activated its Protocol 30 upgrade, known as Bell, on testnet on November 4. Validators are due to vote on mainnet activation on November 23 at 17:00 UTC.
Higher address counts do not necessarily translate into higher token demand. Market commentary cited by Ad-hoc-news notes that low network fees and the use of other assets for settlement can limit the effect of network growth on XLM demand. The token was quoted at about $0.154 on November 7, according to the same outlet.
